Building a culture of Safe Quality Food, five years strong
Bensenville, Ill. – On March 6th, 2014 creative werks successfully completed its fifth SQF 2000 Level III audit, which reaffirms the company’s commitment to build a culture of food safety and be a food safety leader in the industry. Since last year’s SQF audit, creative werks’ operating footprint has nearly doubled in size to include its 245,000 square foot facility in nearby Elk Grove Village. To date, creative werks has 550,000 square feet of SQF 2000 Level III co-packing and manufacturing space.
According to the SQF Institute, in order to qualify for the Level III designation, a company must comply with a Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and implement a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. The purpose of the SQF certification is to provide food manufacturers with supplier partners who can provide the highest level of food safety for consumers.
The auditor released creative werks score card this April, and creative werks earned a score of 98 – the highest it has ranked in five years – demonstrating the company’s commitment to continuous growth and improvement.
Eric Becker, who led the SQF Audit, was promoted to creative werks’ Senior Manager of Quality Assurance this March. “Managing creative werks’ QA department is exciting,” remarked Becker. “We pay immense attention to detail, from receipt of goods to shipment, which ensures our clients are receiving the highest quality products possible.”
