Opportunity
A top confectionary saw an opportunity to disrupt the candy aisle by replacing their laydown bag with a Sharing-Size Stand-Up Pouch (SUP).
Challenge:
This required their network to be re-tooled to accommodate the new format. They sought out a trusted partner to help scale their network.
Solution:
CW built a 30,000 square foot room along with eight vertical bagging lines. As the only co-packer in this top CPG's network, we partnered on a 5-year roll out plan to transition their current operations to our facilities.

FAQs
Which is better for my brand? HFFS or VFFS?
Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS) is a form of vertical bagging creating bags from a flat roll of film. Fed through the machine vertically, the bag is sealed at one end, and then the other, once the bag has been filled with your product. Add something that mentions 'flexible packaging'
VFFS Benefits:
- This automated process allows for high speed co-packing
- Delivers a high-quality finished good.
- Limited material waste
Horizontal Form, Fill and Seal (HFFS) on the other hand, creates a pouch from a roll of film fed horizontally. Product is either dropped in overhead as the pouches run past on a conveyor belt. HFFS leads to more waste than VFFS, but
HFFS Benefits:
- Allow for a variety of closure options
